"I enjoy exploring texture, expression, and moments in my artwork. How can we, as artists, capture an emotion or expression in an image? How do the materials we use allow us to explore our subjects in an unique way? Although I have experimented with a variety of mediums, my current obsession is oil pastels. The ability to show marks, texture, and movement while capturing my subject sparks joy. Most of my current artworks depict animals, allowing me to explore a wider range of texture and subjects that catch my interest. I have been investigating the interactions between animals and how they have the ability to spark real human feeling.
